Download Reports Without Saving

What this helps you do: Create and download one-off reports without cluttering your saved reports list.

How it works

Reports 2.0 lets you download a report without saving it.

This is ideal when you need to answer a quick request but don’t want to manage or maintain another saved report.

You can adjust filters, layout, and formatting—then download immediately.

Download a report without saving

  1. Create or edit a report.

  2. Make any filter or layout changes you need.

  3. Select Download.

  4. Choose your preferred format (PDF, Word, Excel, etc.).

The report downloads, but no saved report is created.

What happens when you close an unsaved report

If you try to leave the report editor after making changes:

  • You’ll see a warning that your changes haven’t been saved

  • You can choose to:

    • Save the report

    • Discard changes and exit

This prevents accidental loss of work.

When to use this feature

Download without saving is best for:

  • Ad hoc client requests

  • Last-minute calendar or status asks

  • Internal one-off analysis

  • Avoiding dozens of near-duplicate saved reports

When not to use it

You should save the report if you plan to:

  • Share it via a link

  • Embed it elsewhere

  • Schedule it to run again

  • Reuse the same configuration later

Unsaved reports cannot be shared or scheduled.

Tips

  • Use this for “Can you send me…” requests.

  • If you find yourself downloading the same setup repeatedly, save it.

  • Dynamic reports still apply—even unsaved downloads reflect current data.
