Calendar Report Filters Explained
What this helps you do: Understand each calendar report filter so you can include the right meetings, exclude noise, and avoid missing important activity.
How it works
Calendar report filters control which meetings appear in your report.
Bills are included only when they are attached to those meetings.
Filters work together, so tightening one filter narrows results across all others.
Groups
Groups appear at the top of calendar filters because they are the most commonly used.
Groups limit meetings to only those that include bills in the selected group(s).
Use Groups when you want to:
Build client- or project-specific calendars
Exclude meetings unrelated to your tracked work
Keep reports focused and readable
Date range
The Date range controls when meetings occur.
Common choices
This week (default) – current activity
Next week – planning and prep
Last 30 days – recaps and summaries
Custom dates – specific windows
Dynamic reports automatically roll forward as time passes.
Meetings with bills only
When enabled, this filter:
Hides meetings that have no bills attached
Keeps reports focused on actionable items
This is useful if you want to avoid informational or procedural meetings.
Chambers & committees
Use these filters to restrict meetings by where they occur.
Options include:
Specific chambers (e.g., House, Senate)
Specific committees (e.g., Judiciary, Appropriations)
You can use Select all and Clear all to speed up configuration.
Advanced filters (dynamic reports only)
Advanced filters let you include or exclude individual meetings on top of your main filters.
Include specific meetings
Add a meeting that doesn’t match your filters but still needs to appear.
Example:
All House Judiciary meetings this week plus one special hearing.
Exclude specific meetings
Remove a meeting even if it matches your filters.
Example:
All committee meetings this week except one your client doesn’t care about.
How filters work together
Filters are additive and restrictive:
Groups limit which meetings qualify
Date range limits when
Chambers and committees limit where
Advanced filters make intentional exceptions
If a meeting doesn’t meet all active filters (or isn’t explicitly included), it won’t appear.
Tips
Start with Groups + Date range, then add committee filters if needed.
Use advanced include/exclude sparingly—most use cases are handled by groups.
If your report feels empty, check:
Date range
Group selection
Committee filters
