How Do I Find and Browse Committee Hearings?

Find and Browse Committee Hearings

Staying informed about legislative proceedings is a key part of your work. The Hearings page is your central hub for finding and exploring committee hearings, making it easy to locate specific events or browse what’s happening.

Searching for a Hearing

If you know what you're looking for, the search bar is the fastest way to find it. You can search by:* Hearing title* Committee name* Location* Keywords from the hearing's summary or full transcript content

Hearings will also appear in the main search bar at the top of every page, allowing you to find what you need from anywhere.

Filtering and Browsing Hearings

If you want to explore hearings based on certain criteria, you can use the available filters to narrow down the list.

  • State: Select one or more states to see hearings from specific legislatures.
  • Date: Choose a specific date from the calendar to view all hearings scheduled for that day. Dates with scheduled hearings are highlighted for your convenience.
  • Chamber: Filter the list to show hearings from a specific legislative body, such as the House or Senate.
  • Category: Narrow your results by the type of hearing.

The list of hearings is automatically sorted with the most recent events at the top. As you scroll down the page, older hearings will load automatically.

If your search or filter combination doesn't return any results, a message will appear letting you know. You can always try adjusting your filters to broaden your search.

Viewing Hearing Details

Each hearing in the list is displayed on a card with its title, date, and an image if one is available. To see more information, simply click on a hearing card. This will take you to the hearing's dedicated page, where you can access the video, transcript, and other details.
