What This Does
Find committee hearing schedules and access on-demand video with searchable transcripts to get context on legislative discussions.
When You’d Use This
- To find the schedule for an upcoming committee meeting.
- To review discussions about a specific bill from a past hearing.
- To search for all hearings related to a topic within a specific timeframe.
How To Do It
Find Committee Hearing Schedules
- Go to Hearings.
- Use the filters to select a State, Chamber, Category, or Date.
- View the list of hearings that match your filters.
Access a Hearing Transcript
- From the list of hearings, click on the hearing you want to view.
- Use the search bar to find keywords within the transcript.
- Click on any word in the transcript to jump to that point in the video.
What Happens Next
After you select filters, the system displays a list of matching hearings. When you click on a hearing, you will be taken to a page with the hearing's video player, a searchable transcript, and a list of bills that were discussed.
Pro Tips
- You can also find hearings related to a specific bill on the bill's detail page under the Hearings and Schedules section.
- From a bill's detail page, you can view both Upcoming schedules and Past hearings.
Limitations
- Transcripts may contain inaccuracies.
