How to Personalize Your News Feed
This guide explains how to customize your news feed to display articles relevant to your interests, browse by specific categories, and switch between different states.
When You’d Use This
To see a curated list of news articles based on policy areas you follow.
To browse all news within a specific category, such as Health Care or Education.
To switch your entire news feed from one state to another.
How To Do It
Personalize with Topics
The News For You section displays articles based on topics you follow.
Navigate to the main news page for your selected state.
Find the News For You section.
Click Add Topics.
In the window that appears, click on the topics you want to follow. A checkmark will appear next to selected topics.
To unfollow a topic, click it again to remove the checkmark.
Click Done.
Browse by Category
Filter your news feed to see articles from a single category.
Go to the main news page for your selected state.
Use the category menu at the top of the page.
Click a category name, such as Front Page or Statehouse Live, to view articles from that category.
Switch Between States
Change the state for which you are viewing news.
Go to the main news page.
Click the state selector located at the top of the page.
Select a new state from the dropdown list.
What Happens Next
After personalizing topics: The News For You section will update to show articles related to your followed topics.
After browsing by category: The page will refresh to display only articles from the category you selected.
After switching states: You will be taken to the news feed for the state you selected.
Pro Tips
If your News For You section is empty, try adding more topics to see more personalized content.
The available news categories may vary between states.
